Romantic, Beautiful, and Budget Friendly: Livingston County is a Spotlight Destination for Travel Writers

Geneseo – In 2019, more than twenty national travel writers and social media influencers told their readers to head to Livingston County in the Finger Lakes region for family vacations, spectacular scenery, destination weddings, and more!  As Forbes magazine put it, Letchworth State park is one of the “14 Best Places to Get off the Grid” as part of their “Why You Need to Take a Digital Detox” article.

While locals might not realize our quiet agricultural region is a nationally-recognized tourist destination, the rest of the world is yearning to come. Unique Home/Living in Luxury called us one of the “Top Destinations across the World for a Nature Immersion Getaway.”  Continuing that theme Motorcycle Mojo put Livingston County in their list of “Six Underrated Fall Getaways worth a Weekend’s Stay!”

Because you can get married in a hot air balloon piloted by Liberty Balloon Company, Livingston County has been both cited as one of the “Craziest Spots to Get Married in America” by The Active Times and listed in “7 Ideas for Romantic Getaways” by a writer for Macaroni Kid.  Another writer for New York Amsterdam News recommended the Glen Iris Inn as a destination wedding site that won’t break the bank.

In July, the entire Finger Lakes region was recognized by TravelPulse as a budget friendly “Top Destination for Adventure Seekers” for those looking for a nature immersion getaway or a weekend of fun touring treehouses, castles, and more.  With additional mentions in Shermans Travel, Jetsetter, MSN, USA TODAY, and The Globe and Mail, Livingston County and our attractions have been spotlighted in the national media.  These wins are a direct result of the partnerships that the Livingston County Chamber & Tourism office has with the Finger Lakes Region and the I Love NY program.
