Located on the historic Livingston County Campus, Livingston Arts Center was originally a four apartment residence for tuberculosis hospital physicians and their families. It now features the New Deal Gallery, home to Livingston County's easel painting collection made through FDR's New Deal programs, Apartment One, a gallery for regional artists' and special exhibits, Livingston Arts offices, and a gift shop. The Arts Center is also a learning site and is managed by the arts council. Call for hours, tours and information.
Open to the public beginning the week of December 7, 2008. The Arts Center is open Wed & Fri 1-4, Thurs 1-7:30 and Sat 11-3 (plus Tuesdays 1-4 May-October). Tours may be scheduled for other time by contacting Livingston Arts at 585-243-6785. There is no admission charge; donations are welcome.
Free parking is available; a ramp leading to the building's first floor is located in the rear parking lot, where all visitors to the Arts Center are encouraged to park. Look for signs Parking for Building 4-Livingston Arts Center.
